Working for Carers project.

Source By: City & Hackney Carers Centre

It’s a great opportunity for any carers over 25 who are looking to get back into work, training or volunteering.

Working for Carers ran a workshop for us during Carers Week on Carers Rights and employment which was very well attended. They also offer 1:1 tailored employment advice sessions. They have received feedback from Carers in Hackney that self-employment is of interest and are planning to run a workshop with Deloittes later on in the year.

Please do share with any colleagues and carers you think might be interested.

Have your say on the first co-production charter for Hackney and City

Source By: Healthwatch Hackney

Local residents and patients can give feedback on the first-ever Co-production Charter for Health and Social Care in Hackney and City.

We have drawn up the Co-production Charter based on feedback and ideas shared by over 70 residents at our People as Partners: Co-production Conference in July. The conference was an opportunity for local people to set out their vision for co-production and co-produce the principles they want to make it happen.

Co-production is defined as designing, reshaping or delivering services in equal partnership with the people who use them in order to create better services and outcomes.

The charter sets out the rights people can expect from health and social care organisations in Hackney and the City of London for the co-production of health and social care services. It also sets out the responsibilities of people engaged in co-production and expected ways of working when co-producing services.

The charter will go to the City Integrated Commissioning Board, Hackney Integrated Commissioning Board, and Hackney and City Health and Social Care Transformation Board for endorsement in October. The boards are made-up of senior leaders from local health and care organisations that we expect to sign-up to the charter and implement its principles.

Read the draft charter here and send your feedback to by Friday 29 September 2017.

Read the full conference report including summaries of group discussions on how to make co-production happen.
